A. – The following are items that are not allowed to be disposed of in our general skips: Asbestos, Tyres, Gas and LPG bottles, Fridges, Freezers, Oil, Paint, Human or Animal Waste, Hazardous or Toxic Materials, Batteries or Chemicals. These are potentially hazardous items that will need to be disposed of separately at your local recycling centre or using a specialist waste service, please contact our office and we can usually give a recommendation. We reserve the right to return any hazardous items found in skips back to its owner for safe disposal.

A. – You may fill the skip as high as the top of the sides of the skip. Any waste above the sides of the skip will be charged at an extra cost. Any waste deemed unsafe will be removed prior to collection.

A. – The Environment Agency (EA) has introduced new POP’s guidance to ensure that upholstered furniture and soft furnishings are not sent to landfill and instead must be incinerated or used as fuel. The use of fire-retardant chemicals in the manufacture of POPs prior to 2019 means they contain what are called “Persistent Organic Pollutants” (POPs). These chemicals are then released once they are disposed of or if they become worn or damaged. Examples of items containing POP’s: Sofas, sofa beds, armchairs, kitchen and dining room chairs, stools and foot stools, office chairs, bean bags and cushions. Examples of items not containing POP’s: Wooden or metal chairs with no padding, mattresses, curtains, bed frames and blinds. We can take these items but they do incur an additional charge, please contact the office prior to ordering a skip if you have any POPs to put in the skip.

A. – Our standard skip hire is for 7 days; please contact us if you require the skip for a longer period. This may incur an extra charge and it is important for us to be kept in the loop. If you fill the skip before, please contact us to arrange collection as soon as possible.
